greeting cards, extra craft items, used rubber stamps, etc. The children use these things
to make craft items. AngelAID is a grass-roots, non-profit community based organization
founded and run by Carl and Arlene Shipley in memory of Tashia (Butler) Shipley a nine
year old girl who died of AIDS from sexual abuse. On a daily basis they help over 2,000
children in their tri-county area who have life-threatening diseases or situations.
San Luis Obispo Art Center
If you are ever in San Luis Obispo, this is a wonderful place to visit in
person to view and buy art. The county of San Luis Obispo is filled with talented artists
who work in every media. Their web site gives you a calendar of events and does have a
great art links section where you can visit art museums all over the world. When people
ask me where they can see my art, in person, I send them to the Art Center. Every
year from the end of November to the end of December the Art Center has a Holiday Art
Market. It is a fund raiser for the Art Center and the members of the association
bring out some of their best things for sale. Prices are reasonable and quality is high. I
hope you take time to visit the Art Center. |
